About
This blog is written by Ben James, a web developer born in Liverpool and now living and working in central London, United Kingdom.
I love the web and made it my career because I wanted to play a part in making it better. My weapons of choice are PHP, MySQL and Apache HTTP Server. I’ve yet to find any web development task that can’t be handled elegantly by these three powerful tools.
I believe web standards (in particular, open ones) are very important, not least because their adoption drastically reduces confusion and wasted time (for users and developers).
Usability is just as important; we should never forget the reason we’re building something.
I work for a digital marketing agency in London E1. My interests outside of web development include gaming (at the time of writing, particularly Kane’s Wrath and Team Fortress 2) and spending time with my amazing girlfriend. I have a degree in Physics from UCL.
